14-megapixel Image Sensors
OmniVision’s new 14.6-megapixel HD sensor uses its most advanced 1.4-micron OmniBSI™ pixel architecture to achieve optimal performance and sensitivity in the industry’s smallest format. The 1/2.33-inch OV14810 has an active array of 4,416 x 3,312 backside illumination pixels operating at 15 fps in full resolution, or delivering full 1080p HD video at 60 fps, using a binning feature to achieve higher sensitivity. In full HD video mode, the sensor also provides additional pixels for electronic image stabilization (EIS).

The OV14810 and OV14825 differentiate in chief ray angle (CRA), which optimizes each sensor for its end application: DSC/DVC and mobile. The sensor’s small form factor, facilitated by its CSP packaging, allows for the development of ultra compact cameras. The OV14825 is also available in RW (bare die) for module integrators. The OV14810/OV14825 enables camera designs with a low-cost bill of materials and reduced power consumption. Both sensors are offered with industry-standard connectivity including LVDS, MIPI and DVP and do not require external IC components.

8-megapixel Image Sensors
OmniVision's 8-megapixel image sensors take full advantage of our new OmniBSI™ technology to offer stunning resolution, light sensitivity, superior dynamic range and power efficiency in a small, integrated design, rich in features such as support for auto focus, zoom and digital shutter. OmniVision's megapixel products target DSCs, digital camcorders, camera phones, gaming applications and web cams. These low-voltage CMOS image sensors provide the full functionality of a single-chip megapixel camera and image processor in a small footprint package.

OmniVision's proprietary sensor technology utilizes advanced algorithms to cancel FPN, eliminate smearing and drastically reduce blooming. The control registers allow for flexible control of timing, polarity and CameraChip™ operation, giving the engineer a great deal of freedom in product design.

All 8-megapixel sensors are available in lead-free packaging.

OmniVision brings the most advanced pixel technologies to its family of 5-megapixel image sensor solutions, led by its OmniBSI™ and OmniPixel3-HS™ pixel architectures. OmniVision's 5-megapixel products are targeted specifically at ultra-compact, high-performance imaging applications including digital still cameras and camcorders, camera phones, gaming applications and web cams. Only OmniVision’s latest pixel designs enable continuously smaller form factors without compromising sensitivity, image quality or camera performance.

OmniVision’s 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel was the industry’s first commercially available backside illumination pixel technology. OmniBSI delivers best-in-class low-light performance and color fidelity in the smallest pixel design available. It enables OmniVision to continue shrinking pixel geometries without impacting image quality or low-light performance, while also maintaining a cost competitive edge.

For applications demanding ultra-high sensitivity, OmniVision offers a 5-megapixel solution that uses OmniVision’s proprietary high sensitivity (HS) pixels to deliver better-than-CCD performance. OmniPixel3-HS is ideally suited for 1.75 micron pixels and larger, delivering exceptional sensitivity and industry-leading low-light performance ranging from 960 mV/lux-sec at 1.75 micron to as high as 12,000 mV/lux-sec for 6 micron pixels.

All 5-megapixel sensors are available in lead-free packaging.
